All about sharing information and getting better acquainted
Thinking outside the box – the motto of the first trainee day for the Masterflex Group in Gelsenkirchen.
On 20 May, the Masterflex Group invited all Germans starting their careers with Masterflex to Gelsenkirchen for the first joint trainee day at the corporate headquarters. A total of 16 apprentices in commercial and technical professions enjoyed an exciting welcome event and learned valuable information about their employer.
Participants also discussed training at the individual sites, took part in joint activities, and, most importantly, got better acquainted with their fellow apprentices. Christina Neubauer, Head of Human Resources of the Masterflex Group particularly welcomed the event: “It is great for these young people to get to know each other,” she said. “After all, they will be working together later so swapping experiences is certainly exciting.” The Masterflex Group has four sites at Norderstedt, Halberstadt, Wald-Michelbach and Gelsenkirchen in Germany, with nine additional sites abroad.
The organisers of the trainee day had prepared an interesting and varied programme for the young people. During a tour of the facilities, trainees experienced first-hand how various raw materials are made into industrial high-tech hoses.
The highlight of the day was the visit to Veltins Arena, which holds 60,000 spectators, and to the stadium of the German Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04. During the one and a half hour tour of the stadium, the trainees learned among other things that the arena is one of the few stadiums in Germany with a chapel, which regularly holds baptisms and church weddings.
All in all a great day - was the conclusion of the Masterflex Group trainees. Gurcharan Singh, budding office clerk in his second year of training, said: “We not only learned a great deal but could also speak very openly about each individual training situation.”
The 100% positive feedback shows that such a day can really help to make training a success.
